What remains after partnership, certainty, and the expected future are gone?

For a long time I confused partnership with proof that my life was whole. Divorce did not only change my relationship status. It disrupted the future I expected, the language I used for myself, and the shape of home. Healing has meant learning that grief can tell the truth without becoming the final truth. My life is not half a life because it no longer looks like the plan I once trusted.
